Strands of Hope

Supporting vulnerable youth in Israel
through Hut HaMeshulash

All funds raised by Strands of Hope UK directly support the programmes of Hut HaMeshulash, an established charity in Israel.

A thread of hope,
woven with purpose

Strands of Hope is a UK-based charity raising funds to support the vital work of Hut HaMeshulash in Israel. We exist to help ensure that at-risk youth — facing significant social and emotional challenges — can access care, stability, and hope for the future.

Hut HaMeshulash runs seven interconnected projects in Jerusalem: emergency shelters, long-term residential homes, transitional housing, vocational training, and an open-access drop-in centre — providing young people with safe housing, hot meals, social care, and a pathway to independent adult life.

Governed by a volunteer board of trustees, we operate with complete transparency: every pound raised goes directly to the programmes we support.

Hodaya’s Story

Hodaya performing on stage

Hodaya arrived at Hut HaMeshulash's open drop-in centre at 18, fleeing a violent home. At first she used to come for the meals, later on she found the music room. Over time she discovered her voice, and today, at 21, she is a member of the Hut HaMeshulash band, rehearsing every week and writing songs that tell her own story.

"Hut HaMeshulash put me back on my feet and saved my life."

— Hodaya, age 21
